13.1 Miles...and Loving Every Step of the Way

Today we reaped the rewards of 9 weeks of training as we ran a half marathon together. This was Dave's first half marathon and the farthest distance he's ever gone. It was awesome (to say the least). Beautiful scenery, perfect weather, the one you love most at your side...we couldn't have asked for anything more. What a feeling of accomplishment to cross the finish line knowing we had met our goal. We averaged between 8.5 and 9 minutes per mile, finishing under 2 hours with a time of 1:57. There were several people in our ward who ran which made it fun to have others to cheer for and others to cheer us on. Hopefully this is just the begining of many races to come!

Finish line video coverage to be posted shortly!

Way to go, guys! Dave was a great runner even back in the old days when we used to go running. We're so happy that you've started a blog; we look forward to "seeing" more of you.

Way to go, you guys! I'm glad the marathon went perfectly, and I'm so glad that you have a blog now! It was fun to read! I loved the post about your mom (it made me cry!). She must be amazing! And I loved the video of Hyrum. What a cute kid! I can't wait to make sure Paul, Mom, Dad, Millie, and everyone else sees this! We love you guys!

Congrats on the half marathon. We have a blog also, not really good at it. I try to do it once a month. But I like to read others blogs and catch up. girardofamily.blogspot.com

HEY!!! For some reason, the email telling us about your blog went to my spam folder. I'm way excited to see all these pictures. You guys have the cutest family and way to go on the Half Marathon. That means you guys will be ready to run the Boston next spring! So you can come visit us. We hope all is well, and we're glad that you're doing well.

Holly, I came across your blog though Danny and Anna. That is awesome that you guys ran a marathon. Remember when we use to see each other on our runs down towards the canyon? Where are you guys living now?
