Christmas Fun

It's hard to believe that Christmas has come and gone already. We kept ourselves busy and time just flew by. With our baby coming so soon we decided to stay at home this year instead of traveling to Utah. It was the first time we've had Christmas by ourselves. We missed being with family, but enjoyed the quality time we were able to spend as a little family. Here's a brief recap of our Christmas fun.

Playing in the Snow
The boys loved playing out in the freshly fallen snow...well, they loved it for about 30 minutes and then they were too cold and wanted to go inside. I guess we're not really equiped for winter play.

Enjoying the River of Lights
The Botanic Garden begins setting up lights in October in order to be ready for the spectacular display in December. This year was much warmer than last and we were able to enjoy the lights without freezing.

Making Christmas Goodies
Let's just say SUGAR OVERLOAD, but three very happy boys. I think they ate more frosting than they actually put on the cookies and suckers. I tried not to think about it too much and just let them enjoy themselves...that's what being a kid is all about, right?

These are supposed to be elf suckers (made by using frosting for the hair, sprinkles for the face and a bugle chip for the elf hat).

Christmas Morning
This was a our first year to have Christmas in our own home. Though we missed family, it was enjoyable to just take our and let the kids enjoy the whole experience one toy/candy at a time. We especially enjoyed being able to attend sacrament meeting on this special day, honoring and remembering our Savior, who's humble birth we celebrate.

The remote control cars/trucks that Santa left were a huge hit!

Making Candy Houses
This is an annual tradition in the Yorgason Family. The boys were old enough this year to really get into it. Hyrum started out making a candy train, which then turned into a candy ambulance and eventually ended up being a candy fire truck. William decided his candy house was actually a candy ambulance. Thomas could have cared less what his creation turned out to be, he was only interested in eating all the frosting and candy.

Bowling

We had a great time bowling and the boys actually got pretty good at doing it all by themselves (with a little help of a gutter blocker). I think Dave enjoyed it the most. It's been too long since his lucky ball "Carmel" has rolled down the lanes.

A Little Bit Of Crazinesss To Top It All Off
